Day 1 - Arrive into Wengen

Fly from the UK to Zurich airport, then enjoy a scenic rail journey of approximately 3 hours to Wengen. Sit back and relax as the landscape unfold along the way.

Arrive by mountain railway and step into a world of Alpine beauty, where sweeping valley views and the majestic Lauterbrunnen Falls unfold below. The crisp, pine-scented air immediately soothes the senses. Day 2 - Time to explore beyond Wengen

Wake to the gentle sound of traditional Swiss cowbells drifting across the alpine meadows, a timeless soundtrack to life in the mountains. Today is dedicated to one of the region’s most iconic experiences, Jungfraujoch - the ultimate mountain excursion, standing at an awe-inspiring 3,571 metres above sea level and known as the ‘Top of Europe’.

From Wengen, travel by mountain railway to Kleine Scheidegg, where you board the highest railway in Europe for the unforgettable journey to Jungfraujoch, taking approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arrival, ascend to the Sphinx Observation Platform, the highest viewing point, and marvel at sweeping panoramas of the Alps, the vast Aletsch Glacier, and the majestic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau massif - a truly breathtaking spectacle.

Beyond the views, step into the magical Ice Palace, a shimmering world carved deep within the glacier. Wander through cavern-like ice corridors and admire life-size sculptures of bears, eagles and penguins. Continue to Lindt Chocolate Heaven, where you’ll discover the story of Swiss chocolate making, before browsing the boutique for indulgent treats to take home (or eat on the way back to your hotel)!

For a touch of adventure, the Snow Park offers year-round fun - even in summer with opportunities to glide along the steel cable, try snowboarding, or enjoy a thrilling sledge ride. Pause for refreshments at the panoramic restaurant, or descend once more to Kleine Scheidegg and set out on foot towards Männlichen, soaking up magnificent views of snow-capped peaks and glistening glaciers.

Follow the Royal Walk, where fascinating insights bring the UNESCO World Heritage Jungfrau-Aletsch region to life. Back at the station, relax on the terrace with a drink, reflecting on an extraordinary day. For the perfect finale, upgrade your return journey and descend to the village in style aboard an open-air cable car, enjoying uninterrupted Alpine views on your ride home.

Day 3 - Lake cruise & Interlaken

Begin your day with a scenic train journey to Interlaken, then board a leisurely cruise across the sparkling waters of Lake Thun. Along the way, explore charming lakeside resorts, admire romantic castles, and wander historic streets. Disembark at Spiez, where the storybook castle rises to your left, and enjoy a gentle lakeside walk toward Faulensee, or continue onto the beautiful town of Thun, known for its medieval old town, impressive hilltop castle, and Schloss Schadau, set beside the tranquil Schadau Park. Pause for lunch at a lakeside restaurant or enjoy a summer cruise aboard a lovingly restored steamship.

Across Interlaken lies the jewel-like Lake Brienz. From the idyllic village of Brienz, board Switzerland’s oldest steam railway, the Brienzer Rothorn Steam Train, and ascend to the summit for breathtaking panoramic views. Alternatively, remain on the lake and cruise past the dramatic Giessbach Falls and its fairytale lakeside hotel.

Back in Interlaken, explore the town at your own pace. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the Höhematten, framed by sweeping Alpine views, ascend Harder Kulm, by funicular for yet more spectacular vistas, or head up to the Top o’Met bar at Hotel Metropole for coffee and cake or finish off your day with a cocktail. From the outdoor terrace, take in stunning views of both lakes, paragliders soaring above, and the lively town below.

Day 4 - Schilthorn or an alpine wonder

A must for James Bond fans, the Schilthorn-Piz Gloria is just over an hour away by mountain railway and scenic cable cars, including one of the world’s steepest at a 159% gradient. Explore the 007 Bond World trail and the Walk of Fame, featuring clips from the 1969 classic On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, starring George Lazenby. Film enthusiasts will love discovering how the iconic stunts and sets were created.

Start your day with a classic James Bond breakfast with Prosecco at the Alps’ first revolving restaurant or arrive late afternoon to enjoy the stunning alpine sunset. Don’t miss the Skyline Thrill at Birg, a 200m cliff-side walk 2,677m above sea level with panoramic views. On the descent, stop in Mürren, a charming alpine village with restaurants, bars, and terraces overlooking dramatic peaks and valleys.

For a more tranquil day, visit the picturesque village of Kandersteg, set amid dramatic mountains and unspoiled nature. Wander through traditional wooden chalets and enjoy the relaxing alpine atmosphere. From here, hike to the famous Lake Oeschinensee, one of Switzerland’s most beautiful mountain lakes. Pause at scenic viewpoints for photos or unwind at the lakeside café, taking in the crystal-clear waters and surrounding peaks.

Both options offer stunning scenery and authentic Swiss charm - choose the adventure that suits your mood!

Day 5 - Last day in scenic Switzerland

Time to say farewell to Wengen and make your way back to the airport. Book a later flight and there will be time for a coffee and souvenir shopping before your train departs.
