Gstaad has been attracting the rich and famous for many years and it certainly has its fair share of smart shops, galleries and restaurants. Yet this picturesque resort has a traffic-free centre and a tranquil location at the intersection of two valleys, surrounded on three sides by the beautiful mountains of the Bernese Oberland. You can even play golf at 1,400m above sea level, in a stunning mountain landscape. Hotel guests benefit from the FREE Gstaad EasyAccess Card during the summer months, with local discounts.
Schönried lies at 1,230m, on the sun terrace of the region. This idyllic chalet village is a paradise for nature lovers and offers the perfect spot for relaxation. There are cable cars to the Horneggli and Rellerli mountains directly from the village centre while regular buses and trains transport you to the centre of Gstaad in minutes.

Gstaad's local mountain, the Wispile, offers a fabulous day out for families with its petting zoo and alpine bowling alley and is also the starting point for high altitude hikes to pretty Lake Lauenen. The Rinderberg is the gateway to the largest hiking region in the Simmental Valley, including the beauty spots and panoramic views around Zweisimmen, Horneggli and Saanenmöser.
