"A wonderful way to see Switzerland, including journeys on the Glacier Express, Bernina Express and Gotthard Panorama Express"
Day 1 - Arrive and explore Interlaken

Flight from the UK to Zurich airport with rail travel to Interlaken for 2 nights and enjoy a first stroll around the town.

Day 2 - Interlaken and the Bernese Oberland

From Interlaken there is easy access to the Jungfrau mountains and you have a wide choice of visits at a 50% discount with your Swiss Travel Pass. The Schynige Platte is recommended for lovely scenic views and its alpine garden in the summer. Alternatively, you could travel for free to Wengen, enjoy a leisurely lunch then take the cable car to Männlichen (50% reduction) for a scenic alpine walk.

Day 3 - Lötschberg Line to Zermatt for 2 nights

Cruise along the lake to Thun, where you meet the Lötschberg Line train. This looping route through the mountains is most enjoyable! Change to regional rail in Visp for the route southwards up to Zermatt, where you will see the Matterhorn come into view.

Day 4 - Zermatt and the Valais

A full day to explore this stunning mountain region. The Swiss Travel Pass allows you to travel to famous beauty spots such as the Gornergrat at 50% reduction. You can even enjoy the scenic cable car journey to Klein Matterhorn at 3,883m.

Day 5 - Glacier Express to St. Moritz for 2 nights

The full Glacier Express experience for a fabulously slow and scenic journey across the Alps, where you can enjoy unbeatable views through your panoramic windows. The Oberalp Pass, Rhine Gorge and Landwasser Viaduct are all highlights of the route, as is the 3 course lunch served at your seat.

Day 6 - St. Moritz and the Upper Engadin

From St. Moritz you can explore the stunning mountains with your free Engadin Card (summer only). Why not visit Corviglia for stunning views and a mountaintop lunch, or take the famous red funicular to Muottas Muragl for a scenic alpine walk.

Day 7 - Bernina Express to Lugano for 2 nights

Another fabulous journey. The Bernina Express offers magnificent views of alpine forests and mountain peaks as you travel towards the Italian border. Change in Tirano to the Bernina Bus for a journey through Italian countryside before crossing back into Switzerland and lakeside Lugano.

Day 8 - Lugano and the Ticino region

This attractive lakeside resort offers free cruises with your Swiss Travel Pass, a delightful way to spend a morning. There are two funiculars close at hand for mountain visits and wonderful views - or you may simply like to stroll along the lake shore with a gelato.

Day 9 - A rail and boat journey on the Gotthard Panorama Express to Lucerne for 3 nights

The comfortable train takes you slowly upwards on looping mountain tracks, with some fabulous scenery to enjoy. On arrival in Flüelen in Central Switzerland you leave the train and join the paddle steamer for a scenic cruise along the whole length of Lake Lucerne to your next resort.

Day 10-11 - Lucerne and Central Switzerland

Plenty of time to explore this historic town at your leisure, or you could use your Swiss Travel Pass to visit beautiful Mount Rigi, with a great choice of walking trails, restaurants and fantastic views over the lake - or why not try the heights of the Stanserhorn. You also have 50% reduction on travel to other regional mountains such as Pilatus and even the mighty Mount Titlis.

Day 12 - Last day

Take a last look at Lake Lucerne before you board the train to Zurich for your flight to the UK.
