Highlights

Journey into the mountains

This wonderful day out starts from St. Moritz village, where you join the funicular for your 30 minute meander up past Chantarella to Corviglia at 2,486m. From Corviglia you can take the cable car to the alpine station of Piz Nair at 3,057m and a terrace with stunning views across the Upper Engadin mountains and lakes.

The gondola cable car between Celerina and Marguns is also recommended for visiting a scenic spot.

Refreshments

There are plenty of options in this region for relaxing with a cool drink or a leisurely lunch with a view. Try El Paradiso which at 2,174m offers stunning views and reputedly the best cream slices to be found! At Piz Nair, more fabulous views and excellent cuisine are available at the Panorama Restaurant.

Memorable alpine walks

This is a favourite spot for mountain walks.

You can walk back down to St. Moritz from Corviglia in about 2 hours, with lovely views of the villages of Celerina and Samedan as you go. The more challenging hike starts at Piz Nair and takes around 5 hours.

A very pretty route is the gentle, kilometre long flower trail from Chantarella with around 200 different species of alpine plants and flowers.

Trotti bikes

Trotti bikes are downhill scooters with special wheels which are smooth-running and easy to steer. They are great fun and can be enjoyed on the special trail between Marguns and Celerina with delightful views of flower-filled meadows and an alpine forest. Payable locally.
