Day 1 - Arrive and explore the high Alps village of Andermatt

Flight from the UK to Zurich airport with rail connections to Andermatt. Welcome to the Radisson Blu hotel for your 2 night stay.

Day 2 - An unforgettable journey on the Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway

Limited departures from mid-June to early October.

Travel by train on the short journey to Oberwald, the start of your 2 hour nostalgic journey to Realp on the Furka Line steam railway. The Furka railway rescued this special 17.8km section of historic track so that travellers could continue to enjoy the magnificent views it offers of the Rhone Glacier. An amazing experience and a joyful highlight of this steam rail holiday. One way travel on the Furka Line is included, with return by mainline rail. Supplement of £67 2nd class or £157 1st class for the return steam journey.

Day 3 - Travel to Interlaken with a choice of picturesque routes

With your Swiss Travel Pass you have a choice of leisurely routes to Interlaken. We suggest travelling down the Goms Valley to Brig and taking the historic Lötschberg Line to Spiez, with onward rail to Interlaken.

Day 4-7 - Time to explore the Bernese Oberland including the Brienzer Rothorn Steam Railway

We have included two journeys whilst staying in Interlaken, firstly a leisurely cruise from Interlaken to Brienz to join the Brienzer Rothorn nostalgic steam cog railway. Chugging away since 1892, the three generations of locomotives provide a daily service through the summer with that special joy you only get from steam trains! Time to enjoy refreshments and the view from the 2,350m summit before your return journey by rail or lake steamer. Your other trip is a visit to Lucerne for the day on the Luzern-Interlaken Express - a delightful journey over the Brünig Pass with time to enjoy this beautiful Old Town and lake. If you want to make a longer day of it you can even plan to visit Mount Rigi mountain also included with your Swiss Travel Pass. On your other two days you can choose to visit the alpine villages of Wengen, Mürren or Grindelwald free with your Swiss Travel Pass, with travel up into the mountains at a 50% reduction or 25% off to the famous Jungfraujoch. Alternatively, with your Swiss Travel Pass enjoy a free cruise to visit one of the beautiful villages on Lake Thun or Lake Brienz or travel to the historic Swiss capital Bern.

Day 8 - Last day

You have time for a last look around the town before you take the train to the airport for your flight to the UK after a truly memorable holiday.
