Boat trips

Get to see the Rhine Falls up close - take a round trip in the Rhine Falls basin or a boat ride to the rocks in its midst and climb up the rock. Tickets payable locally.

There are a variety of boat trips of differing durations and cost between 7 and 20 Sfr per person.

Schloss Laufen

The history of the castle, Schloss Laufen, is closely linked with the history of the Rhine Falls. Enter the castle exhibition and embark on a journey through time. You'll also go within touching distance of the natural wonder of the Rhine Falls whilst on the adventure trail.

The castle offers a self service café and the table service Restaurant Castello. Enjoy seasonal dishes with products from the region in a delightful historical setting.

There are a number of souvenir shops close to the Rhine Falls, selling a variety of gifts and watches.

The falls are very easily reached by train or bus from the town of Schaffhausen - head for the Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall stop. From here is it a short walk to the visitor centre.

Please check before travel for maintenance closures.
