Interlaken Holiday - With A Travel Pass

Flight from the UK to Zurich with rail travel to Interlaken. Check in to your hotel for your 7 night stay and get to know the town with its lovely views of the mountains. Interlaken is a lively town with plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from and a multitude of excursions. We have recommended just a few here but will be happy to advise you on others you may have in mind. 

A leisurely cruise on sparkling Lake Thun is a must. You could alight at Thun or Spiez to explore these lively lakeside towns, each of which has a castle to visit with plenty of restaurants overlooking the water. Another great excursion is to take the funicular up to Beatenberg, followed by a gondola ride to the summit of the Niederhorn. There are simply beautiful views to be had, stretching from the Jura to the Bernese Alps. All journeys are included with your Pass. 

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe. A truly magnificent journey to Europe's highest railway station, followed by views across the Jungfrau region from 3571m. This is a unique excursion, with an ice palace, a summertime snow park, mountain walking trails, restaurants, and of course stunningly beautiful views. Your journey through the mountains to the village of Grindelwald and the glorious views from the Eiger Express is free with your Pass, while the last section to the Jungfraujoch is offered at half price.

The incredible value of the Pass allows you to travel further afield. You could travel along the route of the GoldenPass Line, enjoying the lovely views of the Simmental Valley and alighting in the glamourous resort of Gstaad for lunch. Or you could head out to explore the history and culture of Switzerland's capital, Bern. You could even follow the route across the Brünig Pass and lakes of Central Switzerland to visit beautiful Lucerne for the day. All these journeys are included in your Pass.  

Take a scenic journey through the mountains to Mürren, an idyllic car-free alpine village. Here you can enjoy lunch in one of the village restaurants or take the funicular to Allmendhubel for relaxing and walking. All journeys are free, while a cable car trip to the Schilthorn-Piz Gloria mountain can be enjoyed at half price. Here you will be rewarded with fabulous views, a chance to dine in the revolving restaurant featured in a James Bond film, or just the opportunity to wander on the mountain trails. 

A free cruise along the second of Interlaken's azure lakes lets you sail past pretty lakeside villages such as Bönigen and Iseltwald, the crashing waterfall at Giessbach and finally on to the town of Brienz. After lunch in town, we can recommend a trip on the Brienzer Rothorn mountain steam railway for some beautiful panoramic views to the Jungfrau mountains and the Alps of Central Switzerland. Again, this trip is included in the price of your Pass. If you prefer walking, the lakeside trail is delightful.
