There are some challenging runs offering good skiing for intermediates as well as a number of other winter activities to enjoy here, from sledging to airboarding. Close to Scuol lies the Swiss National Park, the largest nature reserve in Switzerland - experience the stunning winter scenery. The village itself has some pretty, traditional architecture and is a historic centre for wellness thanks to its unique mineral springs. The geothermal baths have been enjoyed here for over 100 years and the modern wellness centre is definitely worth a visit.

The Scuol Lower Engadin ski area

Motta Naluns above the traditional villages of Scuol, Sent and Ftan is something very special. One cable car runs from Scuol and one chairlift from Ftan take you up to Motta Naluns where there are a further 13 lifts at your disposal to get you into the main Lower Engadin skiing area. Many different winter sports await you, from the most challenging steep gradient ski runs to the gentle slopes leading through larch forests and over meadowlands. Experience the exciting mogul slopes and wide open deep snow fields.

There are 7 mountain restaurants and ski bars dotted over the area, offering a warm welcome as you take a break. The ski and snowboard park offers attractive pistes and plenty of winter sports fun. The marvellous 10km ski piste to Sent is an exceptionally beautiful run for you to enjoy, while the valley runs to Scuol and Ftan are supported by artificial snow when necessary.

Scuol resort facilities

Engadin Bad Scuol Spa The centre is open year round and uses local mineral springs to offer a series of indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and a Roman-Irish bath. The holistic treatments on offer include aromatherapy massages. FREE DAILY ENTRY to the Spa for Belvedere hotel guests.

Winter walking You can enjoy a stroll on some of the 160km of well marked and prepared winter hiking trails, passing larch trees dusted with snow and walk along the ice-enchanted river Inn, enjoying the unique soothing silence. Worthy of special mention is the panorama mountain trail from Motta Naluns to Prui and Ftan or from Motta Naluns to Sent via Jonvrai.

Airboard An airboard is a high-tech air mattress, a type of modern plastic sledge filled with air. It is steered by shifting the body weight from one side to the other ... airboarding is suitable for everyone including those who do not feel particularly athletic! You can hire this great winter equipment from the mountain lifts at Motta Naluns and they have also prepared a separate trail for airboarders from Prui to Ftan.

Sledging In the Lower Engadin there are over 38km of prepared runs. The 3.3km run from Prui to Ftan is one of the most well known and drops nearly 400m.

Cross country skiing A total of 80km of cross country skiing for all levels, including panoramic views, various loops that lead back to the starting point and floodlit runs. Those at Lavin and Susch have a direct connection to the famous Engadin marathon trail.

Snowshoe hikes Discover the wonderful winter landscapes on snowshoes, far away from the lifts and ski pistes and you can enjoy the peace and beauty of nature.

Kindergarten Daily day care is bookable on Motta Naluns.
