Day 1. Arrive and explore Spiez
Flight from the UK to Zurich airport with rail travel to Spiez.
Check in to your hotel for your 3 night stay and get to know the town with its lovely views of the lakes and mountains.
Days 2-3. Lake Thun and the Bernese Oberland
Spiez is a lively lakeside resort with a picturesque castle, plenty of restaurants and a multitude of scenic excursions within easy reach. With your Swiss Travel Pass, a cruise on Lake Thun is a must; the boats take you past little villages to Thun at one end of the water or Interlaken at the other. You can also visit the pyramid shaped Mount Niesen or the scenic Stockhorn (50% reduction on the funicular/cable car).
Day 4. GoldenPass Line to Montreux

Days 5-6. Montreux and Lake Geneva
Montreux is one of the oldest resorts in Switzerland, with cafés and shops and a wonderful promenade which you can follow round the bay to the romantic Chillon Castle. Your Swiss Travel Pass gives you FREE travel on the lake boats and mainline trains, so you can plan a visit to historic Geneva, Lausanne and the vineyards at Lavaux. The mountain railway to Les Rochers-de-Naye, where you get a 50% reduction, is highly recommended for its spectacular views of the Eiger and Mont Blanc. Enjoy a leisurely lunch here and visit the Alpine Garden.
Day 7. Montreux to St. Moritz featuring the Glacier Express between Brig and St. Moritz
The day starts with your rail travel to Brig to join the Glacier Express on its journey to St. Moritz in the scenic Upper Engadin region. This wonderful journey takes 6 hours in the comfort of special panoramic coaches where a 3 course lunch is served at your table and refreshments are available throughout your trip. Highlights of this classic route through the mountains include the Goms Valley, Oberalp Pass, the Rhine Gorge and Landwasser Viaduct.
Days 8-10. St. Moritz and the Upper Engadin region
Your visit to St. Moritz and the Upper Engadin valley is greatly enhanced by FREE transport including mountain railways, buses and cable cars, giving you unlimited access to wonderful walks and excursions, including the excellent panoramic walk at Alp Languard with views over the Bernina massif. Other recommendations include the funicular to Corviglia connecting to the cable car to Piz Nair at 3,057m and the glacier station of Diavolezza, with unforgettable mountain scenery. Your holiday price includes a day trip on the famous Bernina Express. This amazing scenic journey transports you across the Alps and down to the Italian town of Tirano where you can wander through the lively piazzas, visit the medieval churches and find a welcoming trattoria for lunch.
Day 11. Last day
Time for a last look around St. Moritz before you take the train to Zurich airport for your flight to the UK.
Spiez-Montreux on the GoldenPass Line, Montreux-Brig via regional rail and Brig-St. Moritz on the Glacier Express
