Day 1. Arrive and explore

Flight from the UK to Zurich airport with rail travel to Chur followed by the one hour spectacular Arosa Line scenic journey to Arosa.

Check in to your hotel for your 2 night stay and enjoy the charming resort of Arosa

Day 2. Arosa and the high Alps

Arosa is an attractive village and one of the highest resorts in Switzerland, situated at 1,800m and our hotel guests benefit from the Arosa All-Inclusive Card which gives you free transportation into the mountains where you can enjoy the stunning scenery on leisurely walks along well prepared and signposted hiking paths. Arosa's ‘high street' - the Poststrasse - with its variety of shops and restaurants snakes up from Lake Obersee to Innerarosa where you will find the 15th century chapel is well worth a visit.

Day 3. Glacier Express to Zermatt

Your scenic rail journeys today starts with the hour long Arosa Line to Chur where you join the famous Glacier Express to Zermatt. This part of the journey takes around 7 hours and you will be served a 3 course lunch at your seat while you travel through the dramatic Rhine Gorge, known as the 'Grand Canyon of Switzerland' which certainly makes for a spectacular sight. Highlights of this classic route include views of the 17th century monastery at Disentis before the highest point of the journey - the Oberalp Pass at 2,044m. You descend past the idyllic little villages of the Goms valley to Brig before your journey continues up to the Matterhorn village of Zermatt for checking into your hotel for your 2 night stay.

Day 4. Zermatt and the Valais region

Zermatt is surrounded by awesome mountains, the most famous being the Matterhorn, which dominates this traditional alpine village. Enjoy your time in car-free Zermatt and be sure to experience one of the unmissable mountain journeys with 50% reduction, such as the network of cable cars to Klein Matterhorn - which at 3,883m is the highest sightseeing point in Europe. Try an alternative view from the idyllic lake of Schwarzsee at the foot of the Matterhorn, or take the cog railway to the pure air and mountain restaurants of the Gornergrat. You will not be disappointed by the views and walking routes in this stunning alpine region.

Day 5. Zermatt to Interlaken

This is an enjoyable journey via Spiez on Lake Thun. You also have the option of the slower Lӧtschberger Regio Express, which travels on the old longer and looping route through Kandersteg and offers fantastic views over the countryside.

Days 6-7. Interlaken and the Bernese Oberland

With your Swiss Travel Pass, Interlaken is the perfect spot from which to enjoy FREE travel around the classic Swiss scenery of the Bernese Oberland. The lakes of Brienz and Thun both have wonderful cruises to idyllic lakeside villages. Take a trip to Harder Kulm with its stunning views over Interlaken. Other trips further afield: Bern and Lucerne! The famous Schilthorn-Piz Gloria is also included and you have a 50% reduction on mountain journeys such as Schynige Platte or the Brienzer Rothorn steam train, a real treat for any train enthusiast, as well as many other wonderful excursions in this beautiful region. 2 nights is not enough!
