Holidays in Arosa - Switzerland
One of Switzerland's highest resorts reached by a stunning train journey from Chur
Arosa is an attractive village and one of the highest resorts in Switzerland, situated at 1,800m. It is reached by a truly scenic train journey in one hour from Chur, the historic capital of the Graubünden region.
The Arosa All-Inclusive Card (which you will receive from your hotel) gives you free transportation into the mountains where you can enjoy the stunning scenery on leisurely walks along well prepared and signposted hiking paths. There are over 200 km of these paths meandering through the stunning alpine landscape of high Alps, lush green meadows and crystal clear mountain lakes. Arosa's ‘high street' - the Poststrasse - with its variety of shops and restaurants snakes up from Lake Obersee to Innerarosa where you will find the 15th century chapel is well worth a visit.

Weisshorn - FREE with your All-Inclusive card
Enjoy the views from the Arosa Weisshorn at 2653m. You can either walk to the summit along marked hiking trails or let the Arosa-Weisshorn gondola cable car carry you up in two stages. The mid station has some wonderful panoramic walks and relaxing mountain restaurants.
From the top of the Weisshorn, you can look out over more than 400 mountain peaks of Switzerland and neighbouring countries. You can also see all the way down to Chur, Switzerland's oldest town.
Hörnli - FREE with your All-Inclusive Card The Hörnli peak at 2,511m is reached by cable car from Innerarosa and has wonderful views over the Urdental Valley and a chance to relax and enjoy refreshments or lunch at the mountain restaurant.
Hörnli – Urdenbahn - FREE with your All-Inclusive Card This ultra modern cable car has been built to link the ski areas of Arosa and Lenzerheide. However, it is also open mid July-mid August, so summer visitors can use a connecting series of chair lifts and cable cars for a wonderful day out, ascending one side of the mountains and descending the other to visit Lenzerheide. (nb the onwards lifts after the Urdenbahn are not covered by the Card).
Why not head back down the mountain on the scenic Arosa Line for lunch in Switzerland's oldest town. There is plenty of history to take in as you wander through the narrow streets and pretty squares of Chur, including an 800 year old cathedral. There are plenty of good restaurants and you will find this to be a very pleasant day out.
