Day 1 - Arrive and explore

Flight from the UK to Zurich airport with rail travel to St. Moritz.

Check in to your hotel for your 2 night stay and enjoy your first look around the resort.

Day 2 - St. Moritz and the Upper Engadin

Your visit to St. Moritz includes a day trip on the famous Bernina Express. This amazing scenic journey transports you across the Alps and down to the Italian town of Tirano where you can wander through the lively piazzas, find a welcoming trattoria for lunch or visit the Palazzo Salis museum (Apr-Oct).

Day 3 - Glacier Express to Andermatt

Join the panoramic coaches of the Glacier Express for your memorable journey to the small mountain resort of Andermatt. A 3 course lunch is served at your table and refreshments are available throughout your trip. Highlights of this classic route through the mountains include the Landwasser Viaduct and the Rhine Gorge.

Andermatt is a high altitude resort and a perfect place for the Furka Steam Railway and your 2 night stay.

Day 4 - A journey on the Furka cogwheel steam railway

Limited departures from mid-June to end September. The Furka Line was formed after this section was no longer needed by the Glacier Express trains and the steam train operates on 17.8km of track from Realp to Oberwald. Andermatt is a short rail journey from Realp for the start of your nostalgic 2 hour journey.

Day 5 - Andermatt to Lucerne on the Gotthard Panorama Express

After leaving the charming resort of Andermatt you travel on a local train to Göschenen where you join the Gotthard Panorama Express which is famous for its three different views of Wassen church as it twists and turns down towards Flüelen. Here you continue the journey by travelling by lake steamer along the full length of Lake Lucerne in 2½ hours. Check in for 3 nights in Lucerne.

Day 6-7 - Lucerne and Central Switzerland

With your Swiss Travel Pass, Lucerne is the perfect spot from which to enjoy FREE travel around the dramatic scenery of Central Switzerland. You should make time to explore the mountains including the famous old cog railway to the stunning peak of Mount Rigi and the amazing CabriO open top cable car to the Stanserhorn. Alternative trips further afield: Bern, Interlaken, or Lake Constance on the German border! Other mountain railways and cable cars are available at a 50% reduction.
