Housed in a historic townhouse, the Kreuz is well located for exploring the city of Bern, being just a short walk from the railway station and the parliament building. The rest of the city including the historic shopping arcades are also close at hand. Guests can enjoy wonderful views of both the old town and the Alps from the hotel's roof terrace. The hotel's restaurant, the Bärenhöfli, is a popular haunt in the heart of the city; after dinner, the Bärenhöfli-Lounge is a relaxing place for a quiet drink or two. The bedrooms offer bath or shower, safe, hairdryer and television and there are vending machines on each floor. Breakfast is a generous buffet with hot and cold dishes.
An interesting note is that the hotel's pastry chefs are famous for 'Öpfuchüechli' - a traditional apple tart ring, made from a secret, authentic recipe. Each year, 4,000kg of apples are prepared and around 80,000 tarts served! Be sure to partake of this tradition either as a teatime treat or a takeaway snack.
