A lovely peaceful lakeside resort, in complete contrast to the bustle of Lucerne. Weggis is in a wonderful location at the base of Mount Rigi and is served by the regular lake steamer routes around beautiful Lake Lucerne. Take the cable car from Weggis to Rigi Kaltbad and allow time to enjoy a leisurely lunch. From here you can board Europe’s oldest cog railway up to the summit at Rigi Kulm which, although not high at 1,800m, has the most magnificent views as far as the Black Forest. Return can be by train all the way down to Vitznau and lake steamer back to Weggis.
