Travel by car

to Switzerland

Whilst most people choose to fly to Switzerland, many people like the freedom and flexibility of driving.

Driving to Switzerland via Eurotunnel or the ferries is now a good alternative. The French motorway network avoids Paris and the roads are generally a lot quieter than in the UK. Journey time from Calais to the Swiss border is around 8 to 9hrs and overnight stops can be arranged if required. The road network within Switzerland is excellent although busy around major cities. We are able to provide you with the Swiss vignette (motorway disc) at £29 which you will need when driving in Switzerland. The Swiss half fare card is not included in self drive holidays. This may be purchased at £79 per person.
