Holidays in Saas-Fee

Valais

Lying in one of the most beautiful high valleys in Switzerland, the traffic-free picturesque glacier village of Saas-Fee has retained its old character with an abundance of charm. Your holiday needs are well catered for with a variety of shops, attractive bars, restaurants and narrow cobbled streets surrounded by spectacular scenery including the ‘Dom’, Switzerland’s highest mountain. The Metro Alpin, the world’s highest underground train, takes you up to the world’s highest revolving restaurant at 3,500m and along with cable cars and gondola cableways offers you some of the finest views and the clearest air you can breathe. Welcome to the pearl of the Alps!

FREE Cableways and Post buses

This summer you can enjoy free use of all mountain cableways including the Metro Alpin and the Post buses in Saas-Fee and the Saas Valley. (Summer skiing not included)

A must among them is the Allalin, which boasts three world records - the highest underground funicular, the highest revolving restaurant and the largest ice grotto. Or why not take the whole family to feed the tame marmots around the Spielboden mountain station? Also well worth a visit are Lake Kreuzboden - set amid beautiful, rugged mountain scenery - and the lovely panoramic terrace on Hannig mountain, also known as "Sonnenberg" or sunny mountain.
