Lake Geneva
A lovely small resort which is surprisingly less than 20 minutes by train from Geneva Airport and yet seems like another world away. The attractive lakeside and small marina have several restaurants from which to enjoy the wonderful views over the lake to France and the high Alps dominated by Mont Blanc. Settled originally by the Romans, whose presence is still visible with Caesar’s Tower and original Roman pillars standing proudly above the lake. The old town is a joy, developed by the Bernese in the 16th century and dominated by the castle and an array of attractive narrow streets leading down to the lake. Nyon with its proximity to Geneva also makes an attractive stay for a weekend or a two centre holiday.
