A visit to Montreux makes an ideal day out, A wonderful journey of around 1¼ hours each way on the GoldenPass line to the centre of Montreux with its beautiful lake, Chillon Castle and varied shopping. The GoldenPass Line from Gstaad to Saanen, famous for the Jehudi Menuhin concert held every year in the stunningly beautiful 15th century Mauritius Church and Châteux -d'Oex before descending through the Jaman Tunnel to Montreux. Shortly after emerging from the tunnel the fabulous view opens onto Lake Geneva, with a length of over 70km is surrounded by the lofty peaks of Swiss and French Alps..
