Gunten located on the shoreline is an attractive village with its flower-decked chalets and an ideal place to relax away from it all. The lake steamer and buses provide convenient connections and close by is one of Lake Thun’s most famous sites, the picturesque Oberhofen Castle, situated in the most beautiful gardens in the Alps.
Thun is a beautiful small town rising from the lake with views over the snow covered high Alps. The impressive castle towers above the late-medieval town which has many sights of interest. Along the shores of the river Aare is the Schadau park with a view of the lake and Schloss Schadau, Thun's second castle, which is built in the style of the French Loire castles.
