The most famous resort in the Bernese Oberland, Interlaken, has the main advantage of being at the centre of a fantastic local network of transport – the whole region can easily be reached from here.
The town of Interlaken offers a different experience than the villages we feature; it has a buzz about it with more of everything, shops - from the luxury watches, jewellery and designer clothes to the infamous 'cow bells'.
In the evening you will find a wide variety of restaurants, bars and even a bit of night life…! The choice of hotels is also greater, with arguably one of the best hotels in the world, the legendary Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa.
Interlaken has a charm of its own; its situation at only 570m is dominated by the high Alps, with glorious views up to 3,500m and the three mountains of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
