Heimwehfluh offers magnificent views of Switzerland. It has a panoramic restaurant and historic lookout tower with views of the Bernese Oberland mountains and the lakes of Interlaken. They even have a summer toboggan run, a large scale model railway display and a large children's playground.
Heimwehfluh is open every day from Easter up to and including 24th October.
Directions: Heimwehfluh is a small hill located south of Interlaken near Lake Thun. The nostalgic cable car is only about a 7 minute walk from Interlaken West station or you can take the local bus line 4 to Heimwehfluh station. It only takes 3-4 minutes to reach the top of the mountain at 669 metres. If you are arriving by car there is plenty of parking at the station. Alternatively you can walk to the top along the hiking trail, which rewards you with beautiful scenery.
Restaurant: The panorama restaurant is uniquely situated with a terrace over looking the lakes of Thun and Brienz and offers a wide selection of culinary delights - A great place to relax and enjoy the views.
The restaurant is open from 10.00-20.00 in July and until 22.00 in August. There is also a small Kiosk with snacks and drinks.
Model Railway: There is a great model railway at the top of the Heimwehfluh which is excellent for the children and even the parents as well! There is a show every 30 - 60 minutes and is open from 10.00-17.00.
Toboggan run: There is a toboggan run for all ages at the top if the Heimwehfluh. (from 7 years and maximum 75kg). The bob run is 400 metres long and there are no brakes...! which means its a great ride for those who love fast rides and an adrenalin rush. The toboggan run is open from 10.00-17.00. (weather permitting)
Children's Playground: There is a lot to discover on the Heimwehfluh, with a large playground near the garden restaurant....which means the parents can relax whilst the kids play and enjoy themselves. There are even some attractions for the 'big kids'. The playground includes a sandbox, slide, swings, a big hamster wheel, pirates train and a big swing. It will definitely keep the children entertained.
