Felskinn-Allain and Ice Pavillion

Take the Alpine Express cable car, with its great sweeping views of Saas-Fee, to Felskinn. Here you can enjoy the panoramic terrace before continuing your journey by ‘Metro Alpin’, the world’s highest underground funicular to Allalin. An austere landscape awaits you in the world’s highest revolving restaurant (pictured), which takes one hour for the entire spectacular ‘world of mountains and glaciers’ to pass you by. Another fantastic experience is a visit to the biggest Ice Pavillion in the world, carved out of the Saas glacier, where you walk down 114 steps below the ice…

Längfluh

(2,870m/9,416ft) Half-day or full-day

 Travel by cable car to Spielboden, where you are
bound to see marmots, the comical little mountain dwellers, before a shorter second cable car journey to Längfluh. This is a magnificent location from which to enjoy the views of the Saas glacier, down to the village of Saas-Fee and towards the Dom which at 4545m is the highest mountain in Switzerland.

Plattjen

The modern six person gondola cable way takes you to the attractive Plattjen viewpoint, known as the ‘Saas panorama’. Visit the lookout point, about five minutes’ walk, which offers an excellent view of the man-made Mattmark dam.

Hanning

(2,350m/7,709ft) Half-day or full-day

Relax on the beautiful sun terrace and enjoy panoramic views. Travel up by cable car with lovely scenery down to Saas-Fee, Saas Grund and Saas Almagell and the surrounding mountains. Good walks down to Saas-Fee.

Saas Grund to Kreuzboden  and  Hohsaas

(3,098m/10,161ft) Full-day

By bus to Saas Grund for the gondola cableway to
Kreuzboden from where there is an ‘alpine flower educational trail’ down to Saas Grund. A further gondola will take you up to Hohsaas - here you are very close to the Trift glacier and have a superb view of Saas-Fee and its glaciers from the panoramic terrace.
