Centovalli Train

An unforgettable journey through the Centovalli and the Valle Vigezzo

The Centovalli Train (hundred valleys) departs Locarno from an underground section  before rising up on the outskirts of Locarno for an incredible journey along the Centovalli via the high point at Santa Maria Maggiore over the Italian border, along the Valle Vigezzo to Domodossola. The journey takes just under 2 hours past breath-taking gorges with crashing waterfalls, over spectacular bridges and passing through delightful villages. Vineyards also line the route, which vary in style from the manicured vine hedges of the Swiss to the somewhat ramshackled family vineyards over the border in Italy. The finale of the journey offers spectacular views of the descent to Domodossola where the track winds down over 250m. More details
