Alternative Travel Options to Switzerland

Whilst most people choose to fly to Switzerland, many people like the freedom of driving or the relaxation of rail travel.
Driving to Switzerland via Eurotunnel or the ferries is now a good alternative.
The French motorway network avoids Paris and the roads are generally a lot quieter than in the UK. Journey time from Calais to the Swiss boarder is around 8 to 9hrs and overnight stops can be arranged if required. The road network within Switzerland is excellent although busy around major cities. We are able to provide you with the Swiss vignette (motorway disc) at £24 which you will need when driving in Switzerland.
The Swiss half fare card is not included in self drive holidays. This may be purchased at £58 per person.
Travel by rail from the new Eurostar terminal at St Pancras offers better connections throughout the UK cutting the journey time to Paris by 20 minutes. The line offers two new intermediate stations, Ebbsfleet near Dartford in Kent and Stratford in East London, as well as the existing station at Ashford. A change of station is needed in Paris and onward travel by the fast and comfortable TGV services to Geneva or Lausanne where the Swiss Railways offer connections throughout Switzerland. Journey time is around 9hrs.
