Holidays in the Alpes Vaudoises

Wide green valleys scattered with typical Swiss chalets

Holidays in the Alpes Vaudoises are a peaceful experience. Set between the eastern end of Lake Geneva and the high Alps above the Rhone valley, this is one of the forgotten areas of Switzerland where you can find some of the most peaceful villages basking in summer sunshine, ideal for those looking for an undisturbed Alpine retreat. Villars which can be reached by railway or mountain road has its own cog railway which lumbers up past the wonderful alpine golf course, transformed from a ski slope in the winter, to Bretaye where you can visit three mountain lakes and enjoy a range of spectacular walks.
