Scenic winter mountain walks Easy to moderate walks in the Swiss mountains

Walking in the winter time can be an unforgettable experience. Pick a sunny day with blue skies and you will find that the Swiss scenery is shown off to perfection. Pine forests with snowy branches, glorious mountain peaks and frozen lakes all look stunning at this time of year.

Our suggested walks are relatively gentle and each takes you through at least one village or mountain stop where warming drinks can be enjoyed in a cosy alpine atmosphere. A wonderful way to explore this beautiful country at its most scenic.

There are a number of particularly lovely winter walks from the resort of Adelboden in the Bernese Oberland. You can find all the detailed information on the dedicated Adelboden page.

Good to know

These walks are relatively gentle, but sturdy footwear is nevertheless recommended. Warm clothing and waterproofs are obviously essential but if it's a glorious day, suncream and sunglasses will also be needed.

All holidays include a Half Fare Card which will give you up to 50% discount on trains, buses, boats and cable cars. In addition, some resorts have hiking passes which can be good value if you are planning to do a lot of exploring.
