Palm Express scenic journey

Journey across the Alps from St. Moritz to Lugano

A delightful journey of real scenic contrasts as you cross the Alps on the comfortable PostBus

The Palm Express links the alpine resort of St. Moritz in the Graubünden region with Lugano, an Italian speaking town in the very south of Switzerland.

Leaving St. Moritz on the distinctive yellow PostBus, you'll make your way past Lake Sils and very slowly upwards into the mountains. The Maloja mountain pass is an extraordinary route with beautiful views all around. After winding your way though the mountains, you'll make your way down through the Val Bregaglia and cross the border into Italy. There's a short stop in Chiavenna to stretch your legs and enjoy your first palm trees before driving alongside Lake Como. Lake Lugano soon appears and you'll cross back into Switzerland before arrival in the town of Lugano itself.

This fabulous journey can easily be combined with the Glacier Express or Gotthard Panorama Express to make a grand tour of Switzerland.
